Solution: Our customer would like to install a Solar PV system to reduce reliance on grid and to save on future electricity cost escalation.
RenEnergy completed an initial assessment based on a rooftop installation. System size to replace the most electricity under Eskom micro embedded principles is 11.22 kWp Solar PV. However, if more night consumption can be moved into daylight hours the size is more than likely to increase. The more electricity one can isolate from Eskom the higher the total savings will be. Two battery options was given 1 x Critical Demand 3 phase 16.4kWh usable storage & 1 x Limited Critical Demand 1 phase 5.12 kWh usable storage. Option 2 was installed

RenEnergy Completes Impact Assessment

Solution: A local client commissioned RenEnergy to conduct an impact assessment to calculate the savings against future electricity cost escalation.  The Co-Generation tariff structure available with Drakenstein Municipality was investigated. The design and assessment revealed that a ground mount installation was the most feasible option with an overall 100 kWp Solar PV system, for the largest replacement of annual energy cost.

From the result and outcome of the monitoring and simulation, RenEnergy team will engineer and design a bespoke integrated Solar PV solution to achieve maximum savings and energy output under self-consumption principles.
RenEnergy would further look at critical applications.

Solution: RenEnergy was requested to investigate the optimal sizing of the system based on the clients annuaul electrical consumption.  The Solar PV system size of 25 kWp was determined from the assessment.  Two energy storage options were provided for single phase isolation or three phase supply during load shedding.

Solution: RenEnergy was tasked to determine the load at their operation.  The main aim was to establish what the electricity usage is over a 12 month period taking into consideration the different load patterns from the different units over the given period. This information was utilised to determine what the correct Solar PV sizing of 130 kWp

Solution: RenEnergy was appointed to do a detailed study on the electricity consumption of the farm on two transformers.  From the resultant information, size a bespoke integrated Solar PV solution to achieve maximum savings. This included looking at the feasibility to combine two transformer points (connections), in order to save additional administration costs. RenEnergy completed a detailed impact assessment with the outcome showing combination of transformer points to not be currently feasible, however that a 70+ kWp system can be installed to displace 70 to 80% of annual energy demand (via Co-Generation).
