Two a day – 1128 kWp

“Due to our long term cold storage facilities for apples and pears, we are a major user of electricity in our area.  The Two-a-Day Group has investigated Solar Energy in the past, but with the help of Ren Energy and Viridus Ipsum, we were able to build an energy supply model which will benefit our factory workers.  This cemented the project plan.

Ren Energy installed a 1MgW solar PV plant at our facility.  We are very happy with the installation and the professionalism with which everything was done, and the fact that we are gearing ourselves towards investing in a second 1MgW of Solar PV generation capacity is an excellent testimony to the work done by Ren Energy on the initial project.”

Ren-Energy recently installed a 79 kWp PV system at Beaumont Primary School.
We were extremely impressed with Ren-Energy’s service and professionalism throughout the duration of the project.
The installation was completed within the allocated time frame with Ren-Energy maintaining an extremely high standard of service and workmanship throughout. Being a school, safety was of paramount importance throughout the installation and Ren-Energy is to be commended for their high safety standards.
Ren-Energy guided the school throughout the project and demonstrated a very high standard of expertise.
Ren-energy also offered to do a power-point presentation to the learners of our school during an assembly to explain to them what benefits the system holds for the school in future.
It was a pleasure doing business with Ren-Energy and we would highly recommend them for any PV job that your organisation may consider in future.

NWK Headoffice – 120.87 kWp

As the installation of the panels were in the busy parking terrain of the NWK head office, there was concern for the safety of NWK staff. This was managed well by the RenEnergy construction team and no incidents ocurred. The East West orientation of the solar panels ensure a early start and extended late afternoon generation of electricity. The system does integrate well with the diesel power generator that acts as the primary power source in the case of a grid failure.

“We installed a PV system through RenEnergy as part of a major renovation to our home. During the selection process we interviewed a number of PV suppliers and installers who were all keen to take on the project, but the RenEnergy team were by far the most pragmatic and professional. They connected with us, the architects and the electrical team and provided a solution that was installed without a glitch. We have now been using our PV system for almost a year and are very impressed with the offsite monitoring of our system and the regular preventative maintenance and finetuning that are still taking place periodically. Responses to any queries are dealt with promptly and the team members we have worked with have all been a testimony to the company’s values of trust, quality, partnership and expertise. The investment in a PV system for our home electricity needs was a substantial exercise – both from a cost and scale perspective, but we are thrilled with the outcome. “

Renewable energy capacity overtakes coal

By | Article | No Comments

The International Energy Agency says that the world’s capacity to generate electricity from renewable sources has now overtaken coal.

The IEA says in a new report that last year, renewables accounted for more than half of the increase in power capacity.

The report says half a million solar panels were installed every day last year around the world.

In China, it says, there were two wind turbines set up every hour.

Renewable energy sources, such as wind, solar and hydro are seen as a key element in international efforts to combat climate change.

At this stage, it is the capacity to generate power that has overtaken coal, rather than the amount of electricity actually produced.

Renewables are intermittent – they depend on the sun shining or the wind blowing, for example, unlike coal which can generate electricity 24 hours a day all year round.

So renewable technologies inevitably generate a lot less than their capacity.

Even so it is striking development.

The IEA’s Executive Director Fatih Birol said “We are witnessing a transformation of global power markets led by renewables”.
